The Battle Within Ourselves

The most important battle…
is not against the outside world,
but against ourselves.

It is an inner struggle… deep…
against our own fallen spiritual nature.

Its main goal…
is to prevent us from transcending…
from being transformed…
into the man or woman God created…
to have victory in everything we undertake,
to have dominion over injustice,
to overcome… even… death.

Because the transformed human being…
overcomes death.

There is an intuition within us
—the intuition of the soul… of the heart—
that urges us… to come to our senses…
to choose what truly benefits us:
to climb… step by step…
that stairway to heaven.

The transformation…
from the earthly… to the spiritual…
restores to us the power
with which we were created…
from the beginning.

And in this process…
the mind and the “self”
occupy a central place.
That… is the part
we are responsible to work on.

When we are ready…
and in God’s time…
the transformation will also occur…
in our body.

If we were to remain in this body we inhabit…
death could not be destroyed…
because—until now—
in this material world…
it has power… over the physical.

Proverbs expresses it with wisdom:

“Guard your mind diligently…
because from it flow the springs of life.”

The “self”…
must stay alert.

It has the power to decide our destiny…
and, if we allow it…
it can lead us down wrong paths.

But God…
can show us another path…
one that does not end in error.

In the mind…
the most decisive battles are fought.

And depending on how we face them…
so will our destiny be…
on this earth…
and beyond it.

The mind…
is a portal toward the spirit,
and also toward the self, or the will,
which holds the power of decision:
the manifestation of action…
of our freedom.

It was in the mind that Eve was seduced:

a thought remained long enough…
to convince her…
that disobedience…
was a good idea.

And when her “self” decided to act…
the consequences of breaking
God’s Law were manifested.

This dramatic and harmful event…
teaches us that we must guard
the thoughts in our mind,
and not allow those
that do not benefit us…
to remain there.

But even more important…
is learning to recognize
the different kinds of thoughts.

For that…
we have the power
of the discernment of spirits.

There are thoughts that are ours.
There are thoughts that come from God.
And there are thoughts that come from dark energies…
that do not want us to do
what truly benefits us…
what would make us happy.

Just as it happened…
to Eve.

Our will…
is the center of free will.

That is where the power to choose,
to decide, resides.

And it is there…
where everything begins…
even the smallest actions…
of our life.

Spiritual transcendence…
takes us beyond this limited view…
of the physical world.

It helps us break the barrier of the body…
especially… of the earthly mind.

And it allows us to begin to see…
who we really are…
where we come from…
and where we are going…
if we let the Spirit… show us.

When we speak of transcendence…
we speak of crossing a border.

Of passing… from one place to another.
Of surpassing a limit.

And that…
is exactly what happens
when we reconcile with the Creative Source:

we cross the border…
from the earthly…
to the spiritual.

We return…
to that original nature
the first formed beings had…
in the beginning.

There is a passage
in The Life of Adam and Eve
in which God says:

“You transgressed by your own free will,
and you went out of the garden
in which I had placed you.”

From this passage
I believe
that the transgression did not occur
inside the Garden,
but outside it.

The transgressing spirits…
could not dwell in the Kingdom of Light,
and the Garden was part
of God’s domains.

That is why…
the Creator cast them down
to this planet,
when it was still uninhabited.

It was because of breaking God’s Law…
that our first parents
were expelled from the Garden of God
and its portal closed
to human beings.

When Adam and Eve went out—
apparently to wander
the outskirts of the Garden,
which protected them
from the evil that already existed—
they were tempted…
and fell into the trap.

Transcendence…
can be seen as that return to the Garden,
but in God’s way.

The reverse way.

A just way,
pure,
and without sorrow.

The crossing…
from the earthly…
to the spiritual.

That return…
is not immediate.

It is a process.
A path…
traveled in stages…
through cycles.

And it is we…
who decide the pace:
fast…
slow…
or stalled.

God has already done His part.
He gave us the necessary tools.

Now it is we…
who decide
whether we use them…
or not.
